Bausch Arti-Pink
Bite Wax
Arti-Pink Bite Wax from Bausch is used for precise bite registration and enables the exact reproduction of contours in the final bite. It is characterized by its excellent modelling properties. With a thickness of 3 mm, this extra hard wax is not only available as a plate of 150 mm x 80 mm, but also in an oval shape in the prefabricated sizes S, M and L.
To determine the upper/lower jaw relationship in the patient's dentition, centric bite registration with wax plates is still a proven method for registering the patient in a neuromuscular lower jaw position. The preformed bite registration plates as well as the standard bite registration plates are still a proven technique to articulate the patient models in the correct position of the mandible in the articulator.
In contrast to hard silicones, modifications can still be made to the wax bites until the bite position is reproducible for the patient. A water bath that can be heated to 55°C is all that is needed for the application. The heated wax is then carefully pressed onto the teeth of the upper jaw. The wax can be reheated at any time until it has the right consistency and offers as little resistance as possible when biting off. After the wax has cooled down or after cooling with cold water, the consistency is very hard again. The advantage of wax over silicone is its very hard consistency when cold (20 - 22°).
